Current developments

UNESCO has, over a number of years, been taking steps to encourage the classroom teaching of the Holocaust in all parts of the world. Its first step was to commission a study by the Georg Eckert Institute for International Textbook Research in Braunschweig. This analysis compared the study of the Holocaust in school textbooks and national curricula in 135 nation states.

The information was collected in the 18 months to December 2013 and the results published in a substantial report in 2015. It is unclear what results have followed.
